22 Jan 11 College Football Thoughts: What I Think About The 3rd Week Of The 2010 Season

off, the early action. I was skeptical of watching the Arkansas-Georgia match-up today, especially after the way the Bulldogs played a week ago in South Carolina. But I figured "Hey, at the very least, I'll get a good look at Ryan Mallett." This was my first game watching Mallett live, and I really like what I see. I like the way he looks dropping back, with a timely release well beyond his years. I like how he looks cool and calm in the pocket, with his passes always seeming to go right where it's supposed to. I really like seeing his leadership on the road, helping his team get the win and establish itself among the 2010SEC elite. I've heard from many people that Arkansas has the best wide receivers in the SEC. This I have to somewhat disagree with. Though I will say these receivers have some of the best hands I've ever seen on one team, they need to work on their route running. off, the early action. I was skeptical of watching the Arkansas-Georgia match-up today, especially after the way the Bulldogs played a week ago in South Carolina. But I figured "Hey, at the very least, I'll get a good look at Ryan Mallett." This was my first game watching Mallett live, and I really like what I see. I like the way he looks dropping back, with a timely release well beyond his years. I like how he looks cool and calm in the pocket, with his passes always seeming to go right where it's supposed to. I really like seeing his leadership on the road, helping his team get the win and establish itself among the 2010SEC elite. I've heard from many people that Arkansas has the best wide receivers in the SEC. This I have to somewhat disagree with. Though I will say these receivers have some of the best hands I've ever seen on one team, they need to work on their route running. He averaging 10.2 points and 5.2 assists in his last five games.Jerry Stackhouse, Milwaukee Bucks Stack scored 20 points against the Pacers. While he has performed better than I expected, he not a fantasy option.Jason Kapono, Philadelphia 76ers Kapono had 17 points against the Heat. He another guy you shouldn concern yourself with.Wesley Matthews, Utah Jazz Matthews dropped 29 points on the Thunder. He averaging 14.4 in his last five games. He a decent option in deep daily leagues if you need some scoring.Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers Batum had 22 points against the Raptors. Consistency is an issue, but he useful in daily leagues.Wayne Ellington, Minnesota Timberwolves Ellington had 15 points against the Kings. He had 17 points in his last game. If he continues to play 30+ minutes, hell be worth considering in daily leagues.Donte Greene, Sacramento Kings Greene had 19 point and eight rebounds against the Wolves. Minnesota doesn play defense so don put too much stock in his performance.
